After completing a Bachelor of Science and a Masters of Science Degree in Chemistry from Auckland University, Dr Jackson received an Australian Government Scholarship for a Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Chemistry at the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia. As well as teaching commitments associated with this, the research work was focused on the characterization of range of catalysts using techniques such as Mass Spectrometry, Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy, Infrared, Ultraviolet and Visible Spectrometry and a variety of other analytical techniques.
Following this, Dr Jackson started his own consulting company working with a range of clients in the fields of Environmental and Process Engineering, Chemical Processing and Analytical Chemistry.
In 1995, he relocated back to New Zealand and has held a variety of Sales and Marketing positions in the Pharmaceutical and Science fields with companies including Rhone Poulenc Rorer, Biolab Scientific, and TCL Marketing. In 2003 as General Manager Scientific he was involved in the launching and operation of Bio-Strategy Distribution focused on the sales and marketing of a range of High Technology products in the Australian and New Zealand markets. This role has again strengthened his contacts and interaction with the key decision makers in the Australasian market place.
Dr Jackson is a qualified thermographer who operates the Infrared Training Centre in Auckland

After leaving the protein chemistry laboratories at the National Heart and Lung Institute, University of London in 1990, Mr. Seymour joined Pharmacia LKB Biotechnology in the United Kingdom as the national field-based technical specialist for electrophoresis and spectrophotometry. In 1992, he assumed the role of European Market Manager for electrophoresis for Pharmacia Biotech Europe, based in Germany, before moving to New Zealand in 1994, taking a role with Pharmacia Biotech Asia Pacific as Regional Sales and Marketing Manager for molecular biology systems, reagents and protein separation.
In March 1997, Mr. Seymour joined the senior management team, as Vice President, Region Asia Pacific of Biacore International AB (BCOR), a Stockholm O-list company developing, manufacturing and supplying optical biosensor technologies. Retaining this position, in 2000, he also assumed the global role of Vice President, Head of Business Unit Life Science Research and Global Marketing, also taking on the role of Vice President, Corporate Communications in 2002.
In February 2004, he launched Biodirectionz Limited, a consulting company, offering strategic analysis, planning and implementation to companies in the biotech sector internationally as well as in New Zealand. Clients have included international equipment manufacturers, start-up technology companies and producers of high quality biologicals.
In March 2004, Bruker Daltonics Inc. (BRKR), a NASDAQ listed manufacturer and supplier of Mass Spectrometry-based life science solutions, became a cornerstone client of Biodirectionz and appointed him, to the position of Vice President, with responsibility for the Asia Pacific Region.
This global and regional experience in the disciplines of business transformation, organizational development, strategic business and marketing planning and a track record for development of start up organizations in the biotech sector offers companies large and small an invaluable resource.
